Satellite buses

Complete satellites, built around precise pointing.

We started with the parts that decide image quality: the star camera, the processing and the optics. Now we build the whole spacecraft around them, in 3U and 1U sizes.

3U imaging satellite

A payload bay below and the bus above, with the star camera inside the body, dedicated processors for each camera, three-axis pointing, deployable solar wings and a separate high-rate radio for imagery.

1U technology demonstrator

A star camera on the top deck and an Earth-observation camera on the bottom, magnetorquer control, a UHF radio and optional deployable solar wings. Built to fly the star camera in orbit and take occasional Earth images.

Questions

Satellite bus FAQ

Does Constellation Aerospace build complete satellites?

Yes. Alongside the star camera, processing and optics, we are designing complete CubeSat buses: a 3U imaging satellite and a 1U bus.

Can I fly my own payload on your bus?

The 3U payload bay is being designed with other payloads in mind. Its standard mechanical and electrical interface is not defined yet, so tell us your payload's size, power and field of view.

Where are the buses designed?

In Bengaluru, India, by the team that builds our star camera.

When will specifications be published?

When they are measured. The designs are in progress, and we only publish numbers that have flown or been tested.
